It is very important that each student understands our cancellation policy. All professional music teachers must enforce their lesson policies in order to effectively operate their business. Lesson slots are assigned to new students on a first come first serve basis. Your lesson slot is reserved for you and only you. Please recognize that when you miss a lesson the teacher precludes the possibility of earning income (from another student) during your lesson time because it was specifically reserved for you.
If you cannot attend one of your lessons please let your teacher know as soon as possible. Students are permitted to cancel a lesson with a minimum of 24 hrs.- but please note that a makeup lesson will only be given if a mutual time and day can beagreed upon by the teacher and student. Missed lessons that are not canceled in advance (24 hrs. minimum notice) are forfeited. Please try to limit cancellations to two each semester, as this allows for teachers to prep accordingly for concerts etc. If you must miss several consecutive lessons due to a vacation etc., please let your teacher know and we will try to make arrangements to work around your schedule.
Students who cancel a lesson with the requisite 24 hr. notice are eligible for a "make up" lesson at another time that is mutually convenient to the student and teacher. If the student and teacher cannot agree on a suitable make up lesson the student will forfeit the lesson. Rest assured we will do everything possible to ensure that a make up lesson is given. Cancelled lessons may NOT be credited to the next month in order to reduce the monthly fee for the subsequent month. *Occasionally it may be necessary for the teacher to cancel a lesson in order to travel to a playing engagement. Lesson that the teacher misses however, may be credited to subsequent months or refunded in full.
Students who wish to withdraw from lessons must let their instructor know at least twoweeks in advance to allow for the scheduling of a new student in their time slot. All subsequent post-dated cheques will be voided at this time.
2022/23 Fee Structure and Concert Scheduling
Rates for 2022/23 year are: Michael Turner-$27/30mins, $40.50/45mins., and $54/60mins. private instruction Claire Carleson Mitton and Dean Powers- $26/30mins, $39/45mins., and $52/60mins. private instruction (all taxes and admin. fees incl.). Recording instructional and session fees are $65 and $75/hr.
Monthly invoices will be sent out for Sept-Dec and Jan-June at the beginning of Sept 2023 and January 2024 respectively. All payments will be required in monthly post-dated cheques or equivalent cash for Sept-Dec and again for Jan.-Jun. Post-dated cheques must be received by the first lesson of the first semester. If cheques or cash are not an option then e-transfers for the first of each month will also be accepted
We will be holding a year end concert for all students in June 2024- date and time TBA
